Rabbi Daniel Greer Celebrates Success of Completed Renovations Throughout Community

· Yeshiva New Haven,Daniel Greer,Rabbi Daniel Greer

Rabbi Daniel Greer and the Yeshiva of New Haven take great civic interest in the Edgewood Neighborhood. Rabbi Daniel Greer has worked to renovate some of the beautiful but long neglected houses in the area and twice was awarded recognition by the New Haven Preservation Society. Working with volunteer architects and designers, the revitalized homes all sport a thematic color scheme, which blends quietly into the area. Rabbi Daniel Greer was quoted as saying: "It is a great privilege to collaborate with the many craftsmen who devote hours of careful work to restoration. Many times, vintage woods have to be reproduced, and intricate original plaster designs copied. Yeshiva is honored to have a part in these projects."

In addition to his work in restoration and revitalization of the Edgewood Neighborhood, Rabbi Daniel Greer is a strong supporter of first responders and especially of the local firehouse. In a recent rally in support of Engine 9, according to an article in the New Haven Register, Rabbi Daniel Greer, of the Yeshiva of New Haven, addressed the crowd. In his remarks, he shared a personal story of a time when his family was saved from a burning building. Ml always used to look at firemen as sort of interesting chaps, but some three decades ago, I and my wife and five children were trapped in a building, not in this city, smoke-filled, a fire raging around us, and as we crept along, firemen came and grabbed our children as saved us," Greer said. "Every time I see a fireman, I thank the Almighty and I thank the firemen", Rabbi Daniel Greer further said; " firefighters are an integral part of the neighborhood and Engine 9 needs to remain as it is. We have rebuilt this neighborhood in the last 25 years and this firehouse, Engine g, was our protector under the Almighty’s guidance and providence. This neighborhood has lifted itself up by its bootstraps. We want Engine 9 to remain here. We live here", concluded Rabbi Daniel Greer.

The group was also addressed by Fire Union President Frank Ricci and, union Vice president Mark Vendetto.
